It can be difficult for friends and family members to figure out what to say during these times. You want to help, but you’re not quite sure how. You don’t want to say anything that’s going to upset your loved one. Here is a list of what to say and what not to say to your loved on who is going through recovery.

Do NOT say:

“How long have you been sober?”

Instead Say:

“How is it going?”
